Angola: President gets message from Burundi counterpart

Luanda, ANGOLA, March 13 - Angolan head of State João Lourenço Tuesday in Luanda received a message from his counterpart of Burundi Pierre Nkurunziza, as part of strengthening of cooperation between the two countries. ,

 

Delivered the letter was Burundian Foreign Minister, Alain Aime Nyamitwe, during an audience the Angolan President granted to him at Presidential palace.

 

The two countries enjoy cooperation in various fields.

 

Speaking to the press at the end of audience, the top diplomat said that the two countries are studying mechanism to deepen the ties in detail, with emphasis on the economic and trade sectors.

 

Alain Nyamitwe, who was speaking on behalf of his government, acknowledged Angola’s key role at the time the country was at the helm of the International Conference on Great Lakes Region (ICGLR).

 

He recalled that, even with the transfer of ICGLE's chair to Republic of Congo, Angola still continues to play an active role within the Africa’s regional organisation.
